No Excuse November: The Power of Showing Up, Even When It's Hard

It's November, a month caught between the highs of summer’s energy and the holiday season's hustle and bustle. I keep asking myself, how the hell is it November already?? But here’s the thing about November: it can be the most transformative month of the year if you let it. And I call it "No Excuse November".

Why? Because excuses are easy. They're the ever-ready shield we wield to protect ourselves from discomfort, from taking that next, brave step forward. But imagine if we leaned in instead—if we used this month to show up, regardless of the obstacles or how we felt.

It's tempting to wait for the perfect moment: a well-rested morning, the ideal weather, or a week when the demands of work and life magically line up. Trust me, I am guilty of this...but as you know, life doesn't often work that way, at least for me 😆. Comfort tricks us into complacency. It tells us, "Try again tomorrow." But tomorrow turns into next week, then next month, and before you know it, another year has slipped away.

Sitting still is tempting, but progress requires movement, action, and the courage to try, even when conditions aren't perfect. The world doesn’t wait for us to be ready; it rewards those who step up, who raise their hands, who say, “I’m here, and I’m doing the work.” I am sure you have heard the saying "If it were easy, everyone would do it". Well it's true! That is why less than 1% of the world's population are billionaires.

What if this November, you made a promise to yourself: "No more excuses, just action." This isn't about pushing yourself to the brink. It's not about exhausting every last reserve of energy until burnout becomes inevitable. Instead, it's about a commitment to show up, however imperfectly, and make a small dent every single day.

Imagine a world where progress isn't determined by grand leaps but by consistent, tiny steps. The irony is that these little steps often have the greatest impact over time. And the truth is success doesn't happen overnight, we just see the end result of people's everyday small wins. Writing that single page for your new book every day? In a year, you have a novel. Making one extra prospecting call a day? In a month, you have 30 more opportunities that you wouldn't have had otherwise. Ed Mylett says it all the time, the difference is just ONE more.

I’m not asking you to work miracles this month. Because the definition of a miracle is: an extraordinary and surprising event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency. More generally, it can refer to any highly improbable or extraordinary event, achievement, or outcome that brings about positive results.I’m inviting you to commit to something meaningful: a practice, a project, or a promise you’ve been putting off. The fear of failure, the habit of overthinking, the lack of motivation—these are just excuses in disguise. But beneath them? You have everything you need to begin.

So, ask yourself: What would your November look like if you set those excuses aside? If you chose, instead, to embrace the discomfort, to push through the ordinary resistance and keep going?

Let’s make "No Excuse November" a month to remember. Start now. Take the first step. You have everything to gain, but everything to lose.
